This article explores the evolution of the Third Sector of Social Action entities in the Member States of the European Union and their articulation in networks at European level.
Starting from the classic categorization, based on the different traditions of well-being, it delves into the common elements that determine the recent evolution and that indicate a certain convergence among the countries.
It explores the legal, political and economic elements that have determined the articulation of social entities in networks at European level, identifying the gap and sometimes disconnection between national and European level, and drawing some conclusions about the reinforced role that the Third Sector can have in the future European social model.
