Conclusions and recommendations from the day of discussion on European funds and the Roma population

On December 4, 2015, the Directorate General of Services for Families and Children in collaboration with the Junta de Extremadura, organised a conference in Merida on European funds and Roma. The conclusions and recommendations drawn from this are now available.

This day of discussion, invigorated by Fresno, the right link, had the following objectives:

1. KNOWLEDGE
Introduce the priorities and approaches of European funds of the new multiannual financial framework 2014-2020: Structural Funds and Investment in Spain (national operational programs and regional operational programs of the ERDF and the ESF), the Erasmus + Program Program Employment and Social Innovation, the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Program, among others.

2. DISCUSSION AND EXCHANGE
See first hand examples of programmes and projects related to social inclusion of Roma financed by various European funds.

3. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Define what may be the recommended strategies and the design of Roma inclusion programmes and projects for funding through a European fund approach.

The discussion paper includes:

  • The objectives of the conference;
  • information on European investment funds and the European programme on rights, equality and citizenship 2014-2020;
  • and elements for debate.
