On 7 June, José Manuel Fresno participated as an expert speaker at the IV Congress of the Spanish Network of Social Policy at the University of Alcalá de Henares

The Spanish Network of Social Policy (Red Española de Política Social, REPS) is an association of lecturers, researchers and social policy professionals. Their objective is to facilitate the exchange of ideas, suggestions and research projects among social policy studies in Spain.

Under the title “Social policies between crisis and post-crisis”, the fourth edition of the Congress focused on the monitoring of social impact of the crisis and, moreover, on discussing and reflecting on solutions and possible alternatives from a social policy point of view for the coming years.

At the Congress, special emphasis was given on:

  • The setting of the European social model
  • The uncertainties faced by Southern Europe
  • The remaining challenges in our country with regards to social cohesion, civic integration and inter-territorial solidarity

José Manuel Fresno participated in the third plenary session (7 June 2013) with a speech on “Actors and social movements in Social Europe and Spain”.
