This seminar has a double objective: firstly, to analyze the main challenges and methodological strategies to improve the quality of scientific research in the field of discrimination and, secondly, to investigate the causes and anticipate possible solutions regarding the under-reported incidents of discrimination, hatred and intolerance.

During the seminar, the Secretary of State will present the first results from the Survey 3000/2013 Perception of Discrimination in Spain, conducted by the Ministry of Social Services and Equality, in collaboration with the Centre for Sociological Research (CIS) as part of the project Map of Discrimination in Spain.

Jose Manuel Fresno will moderate the round table on transnational research discrimination: current status, challenges and opportunities. This session will start at 11:30 on Thursday 30 October.

The profile of participants to the seminar will be professionals, academics, experts in social research and research staff of public and private institutions and government representatives working in the field of equality and non-discrimination.
