Stefan Meyer

International senior consultant, specialised in social policy and governance

  • Stefan Meyer is a political scientist (FU Berlin) and holds Master degrees in Public Health (TU Berlin) and Governance and Development (IDS Brighton).

    With over 20 years of experience, he has worked on issues of social policies, social protection, aid effectiveness, conflict resolution, governance, health coverage, and adult education.  Having worked in the private, public, academic and non-governmental sectors, he combines a profound commitment to human rights with a sound technical knowledge on methodologies and policies.

    Stefan has worked with the German Technical Cooperation in West Africa in an integrated reconstruction and reconciliation programme. He spent 4 years as a senior researcher in the think tank FRIDE, working on aid effectiveness, governance assessments and international relations with Africa.  He coordinated the advocacy department of Médicos del Mundo Spain for 2 years. He has worked as a consultant for different companies such as WZB Berlin Social Science Centre, Institute of Development Studies and Saniplan. Stefan is a German native speaker who is fluent in English and Spanish.
